New Year Fireplace
All the red and green and glitter and gold has been put away for another year.  The tinsel has been swept from the floor and the sugar-laden trays of goodies are no more.  I adore decorating our home for Christmas but I absolutely love cleaning it all up in time for New Year’s Eve.  It is as though I am clearing the way for all the new year holds for me.  I always leave up this Nativity Scene throughout the winter along with one scene I leave up all year.

New-Year-2015
Here are a few scriptures I read today.  There are many that tell us about God’s promises as we face the new year. Jeremiah 29 tells us His plans for you and I are for GOOD and for a FUTURE.   I believe we are given a living hope in Jesus Christ and can always start new. No matter what we faced this past year, we can choose today to trust in Jesus and experience the blessings that come from following God’s plan.

Happy New Year filled with God’s promises, His blessing, and His love!

Isaiah 43:19
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.

Psalm 98:1
Sing to God a brand-new song. He’s made a world of wonders! He rolled up his sleeves, He set things right.

Deuteronomy 7:13
He will love you, he will bless you, he will increase you.

Lamentations 3:22-23
God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.  They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness!

Ezekiel 11:19
I’ll give you a new heart. I’ll put a new spirit in you. I’ll cut out your stone heart and replace it with a red-blooded, firm-muscled heart.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it!

Ephesians 4:22-24
Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything – and I do mean everything – connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life – a God-fashioned life,  a life renewed from the inside  and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.

Colossians 3:9-10
Don’t lie to one another. You’re done with that old life. It’s like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off and put in the fire.  Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete.

1 Peter 1:3
What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for,

Revelation 21:5
The Enthroned continued, “Look! I’m making everything new. Write it all down – each word dependable and accurate.”

Psalm 31:23-24
Love God, all you saints; God takes care of all who stay close to him, But he pays back in full those arrogant enough to go it alone.  Be brave. Be strong. Don’t give up. Expect God to get here soon.

Proverbs 23:18
That’s where your future lies. Then you won’t be left with an armload of nothing.

Isaiah 40:30-31
For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall.  But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.

Micah 7:7
But me, I’m not giving up. I’m sticking around to see what God will do. I’m waiting for God to make things right. I’m counting on God to listen to me. Spreading Your Wings

Romans 5:5
In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary – we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!

Jeremiah 29:11
I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out – plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

Romans 8:18
That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times.

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.

AMEN!
