Since I’m was carving a fried snack that I can enjoy on a relaxing weekend afternoon, I’ve thought of making Bacon Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks!
As we’re talking about the versatility of bacon and its scrumptious flavor, why don’t we create a Bacon wrapped mozzarella sticks instead of a boring cheese stick?
Bacon Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks Ingredients
- ½ lb bacon
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp Sriracha powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp dried parsley
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 egg
- Mozzarella
- Oil for frying
How to make Bacon Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks
Step 1: Ready your breading material by combining your flour, paprika, onion powder, sriracha powder, salt, dried parsley and pepper in a container. Make sure to mix the dry ingredients well.
Step 2: Break the egg on a separate container and whisk until frothy. Set aside.
Step 3: Grab the mozzarella and slice about 8 pieces into sticks. The length and width of the mozzarella will depend on how you want it to be, but the ideal size is about 4 inches long with 1-inch thickness.
Step 4: Now that your ingredients are ready, it is best to arrange the ingredients in this order – mozzarella sticks, flour, egg, bacon. Now we’re ready to assemble!
Step 5: Get one stick of mozzarella, dredge it in flour and coat with egg. Then, do it again until you coat it twice. Then, dip it in egg again and wrap with a piece of bacon. Now coat the bacon with egg and dredge in flour before placing in a container. Repeat until all the pieces are coated. Freeze the coated sticks until firm.
Step 5: Once the mozzarella sticks are set, you can fry them in hot oil until golden brown! Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce. I prefer this hot sauce!
Additional Recipe Notes:
- You can prep a large batch and freeze until needed! Just fry any time you like it and in no time, you’ll have hot and cheesy Bacon Mozzarella Sticks!
- Aside from bacon, you can also use cooked ham or pepperoni!
