Hello! Remember me? It has been 19 days since I wrote a blog post. A shopping list of reasons why would look like this:
- My computer crashed
- I bought a new computer and it took time to set it up
- Our countrified internet service has given us trouble
- I was busy writing the lecture for my first teaching at Community Bible Study (Yeah!)
- I made too many “to-do” lists at the beginning of the year and became paralyzed to do anything!
- I have bloggers block!
- I can’t find the pictures I took of Lobster Bisque
- I have too many ideas what to write about and can’t decide
This list really could go one but that would be boring. So let’s just say Happy New Year and move on! Thank you to Bonnie and her granddaughter for sending us this awesome photo. They made two batches of Marshmallow Peppermint Patties over Christmas vacation! I adore seeing kids in the kitchen with their Grandmothers!
Speaking of Grandmothers — our Christmas holiday brought several of the kids home including two of our granddogs. Mason is a beautiful Boykin Spaniel and Sarge is a rough and tough Bulldog! And finally, I couldn’t be happier about my new MacBook Pro. My old one was 6 years old and had served me faithfully. I am stunned at how much faster this new one is. Also, the colors and clarity has improved immensely!
I have been studying the book of Mark. It has been a fascinating 18-week study that will end next week at Community Bible Study. From our lesson this week I read,
Mark 16:15-16 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
When it is all said and done Jesus said if we believe then we have the responsibility and command from him to go and tell others! Matthew, Luke and John all end in a similar way:
Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Luke 24:47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
John 20:21-22Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
As we begin this new year, won’t you join with me in spreading the good news of the Gospel? We don’t have to wait until Easter rolls around to claim that Jesus Is Alive!
Have a blessed Sunday, and the good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise I will be back blogging.
