How to make EYE Can See You Cookies for Halloween:

Place the softened butter in a mixing bowl and cream together with the sugars and black food color. The amount of the coloring will depend on how black you want it to end up. Make sure to use the gel type because in this recipe, I got the liquid one which didn’t really blacken the dough. You can use a spatula, wooden spoon or hand mixer.

Now here’s the fun part! Top the raw cookie dough with the eye candies! I got two different sizes of candy eyes that’s why I alternately added them to the dough.

Notes:

  • The candies may melt due to the hot temperature of the oven. What you can do to avoid it, is to put the candies on halfway through the baking or right after getting the cookies out of the oven.
  • Take the creepy up a notch by adding bloody glaze made with powdered sugar, water, and red food coloring. I didn’t make them this way because my family thinks these are cute.
  • The eye candies are available at your favorite baking ingredients shop or online! There are other designs available so just let your imagination run wild while designing these Halloween EYE cookies!
