Today, we will be sharing with you a Homemade Double Chocolate Ice Cream recipe that you can easily make in the comfort of your home! While this is my favorite ice cream maker, no need for it here because this recipe is so easy that you only need a few ingredients to whip up this Homemade Double Chocolate Ice Cream recipe!

Now before we continue with the delectable and refreshing Double Chocolate Ice Cream, let’s take a quick look at the ingredients that we will be using to create it:

  1. Cream: This will be the source of the amazing creaminess and smooth texture of our ice cream. We will not be using any eggs or gelatin-like the typical ice cream recipe so a good cream is advised to ensure that we’ll get a delicious result by the end of the process.
  2. Condensed Milk and Evaporated Milk: No syrups here! This recipe will use two types of milk for that extra pack of creaminess. We won’t have to add any sugar because the condensed milk will be our sweetener for this recipe.
  3. Flavorings and Toppings: This will purely depend on your choice, but for this recipe, I’ve decided to create a Double Chocolate topping using cocoa and dark chocolate to balance the sweetness of our ice cream. You can actually use any ingredient and flavoring you desire. My recommended toppings are fresh berries, bananas, cookies, sprinkles, etc.
  4. Vanilla Extract: Nothing makes any dessert more delicious than vanilla extract.

Now That you have a bit of background with our ingredients, let’s start making our Homemade Double Chocolate Ice Cream! You will need the following ingredients:

  • 390 ml Condensed Milk
  • 165 ml Evaporated Milk
  • 250 ml Chilled Cream
  • 1/3 cup Dark Chocolate
  • 2 Tbsp Cocoa
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract

How to make Homemade Double Chocolate Ice Cream

Step 1: Roughly chop the dark chocolate and set aside.

Step 2: In a small bowl, combine the condensed and evaporated milk. Mix well and set aside.

Step 3: Grab a bigger bowl and place the chilled cream. Now using a hand mixer or a whisk, whip the cream thoroughly until it became light and fluffy.

Step 4: Pour the milk mixture to the cream and mix until well incorporated. This is the time to include the chopped dark chocolate, cocoa, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

Step 5: Transfer to a container and place inside the freezer. You can let it freeze overnight or if you want to churn it for a fluffier and creamier result, you can stir the mixture every 2 to 3 hours.

  • This recipe is good for 4 persons! If you want to serve a group or your big family, you can double the recipe!
  • Use other flavorings and toppings if you want. Try some fresh mango and crushed graham or bananas and chopped peanut butter bits. The possibilities are endless!
  • If you find the recipe too sweet, you can adjust it by using about 2/3 of the required condensed milk in the recipe.
