Am I the only baker on the planet who has never made these awesome chocolate and peanut butter no bake cookies? A few weeks ago my sous-chef dishwashing mom and I delivered a panful of PW cinnamon rolls to our friend Julie. Julie had given us fresh
garden tomatoes the day before and we needed to return her basket. In keeping with true southern tradition (never return a plate, or garden box, empty) we included some fresh-out-of-the-oven cinnamon rolls with our return.
When Julie returned our cinnamon roll pan she included No Bake Cookies! (Aren’t we lucky?!)
The Chief Chocolate Eater who lives in this house along with our sous-chef dishwashing mom absolutely loved these cookies. I nibbled on a few myself and quickly saw the need for making more!
Thank you, Julie for sharing your awesome No Bake Cookies! These are the easiest cookies imaginable made in the microwave, no less!
Happy Baking!

I love these, but I love adding cayenne pepper and walnuts. Very addictive.
I learned to make these “no-bakes” 100 years ago when I was in Campfire Girls. Don’t think we had a microwave back then, so I still make them the old-fashioned way, in a pan on the stove. I’ve got a whole bunch of Penzy’s cocoa (try it if you haven’t already, it’s yummy), so I need to whip up a batch. Hadn’t thought about these cookies for years.
Glad to bring back a flash from the past! I think you must be Penzy’s #1 customer! ha!
I am anxious to try this microwave version. Like Bonnie, I often have trouble getting the right consistency
Hey Linda, let me know how yours turn out!
Catherine, Jamie always asked me to make him some “Arkansas” cookies. He called them this because after moving to Arkansas I always made these cookies and he loved them! I made him a batch when I was down taking care of him before he passed! Brought back sweet memories seeing this recipe on your blog this morning!
Denise, thank you for sharing this sweet story and the lovely memories of your brother Jamie. One of my favorite memories is how you came to Tennessee to take care of your brother when he needed you most. Blessings!
I love these cookies, but have never had success getting them to the right consistency. I am thrilled to have a microwaveable version. I always bring them home from potlucks for Charles since they are his favorite!
It has been fun to hear from folks about this recipe … that I had never made before! Julie says she doesn’t have trouble with this version so I hope you find it good also! See you soon!
These are a standby cookie at our house. My brother Kenny, makes a mean batch of these, they are lovingly called CNBCs.
Jeanne, does Kenny use this microwave version? You are a great cook so anything you bake I know is awesome!
I have made these cookies for years even when my children were small. Must be a southern thing but so easy and so good!!
My mom says she used to make them too, I just never did! I will from now on. I already have these on the list for a “thank you” event at our church this fall!
