Happy New Year! I already love this new year. 13 is my lucky number. Always skeptic of the “unlucky 13″, I decided years ago to embrace the number 13. When others jeer and steer away from it I grab it as MY lucky number! Now 2013 has arrived and I am off to a fabulous start.
We spent New Year’s Eve with friends, eating, drinking, laughing and playing the game Catch Phrase. I thank them for the fun time and many laughs. This is a perfect way to ring in the new year!
New Year’s day I did what I do every year. I put away my Christmas dishes, cleaning every nook and cranny with visions of new recipes dancing in my head. What did you do for new year’s? How about new year’s day? Do tell.
My previous post listed the recipes that have received the most views from readers. While some of them were definitely on my favorite list I have some recipes that I am just drawn back to time after time. When I started this blog I was hoping it would inspire me to give my family more variety from the kitchen to the dining room. I believe I am accomplishing that goal and look forward to adding a new category of recipes in 2013. (I’ll be telling you more about that next time!) What recipes do you find you tend to go back to over and over?
My Favorites
Pecan Sticky Buns
Pizza Rustica
Green Bean Buddies
Asparagus Pinwheels
Cabbage Burgers
Apple Sheet Cake with Caramel Frosting
Caramel Pecan Pie
Fried Green Tomato Parmesan
Thai Chicken Salad
Taste of Italy Lasagne Soup
Listing favorite recipes turned out to be much harder than I thought. I like so many and listing just a few seems to short change others I really like! I hope you have time to do some surfing through my recipes tab for a recipe or two that catches your eye.
I have some delicious and fun recipes in store to kick off the new year! See you back here real soon.
Thai chicken…yum!!
Cyndi, you are right this chicken thai salad is so yummy and especially easy!
Catherine, I just want to tell you how much I enjoy your recipes and blog! And please give your ” sous-chef, dish washing mom” a big hug from me……….Sherrie Feddersen, Alliance
Thank you Sherrie! I passed on the message and she was thrilled! Happy New Year!
A lot of good recipes!
Oh my, they all look and sound so good! I could probably make a meal out of the Pizza Rustica. Better add the green beans in there for a balanced meal! I have a very large Cuisenart food processor that was my chef cousins, sadly he passed. I think he had almost every attachment that’s made. So I could whip up that pizza crust pretty easy! It looks like you had a lot of fun last night! It was just me and husband. I spent some time quilting and he was on the computer .today was the same. We are pretty boring. Can’t wait for all your new posts. It’s going to be a wonderful year! Blessings
