It snowed last night. This little bit of snow wouldn’t be even a blip on the radar of my Nebraska, Colorado, Illinois or even Utah friends and family. But here in Tennessee — this snowstorm is a big deal. Snow is a rarity in southern middle Tennessee where I live. We get rain and sometimes ice but only a snowflake or two.
That is why yesterday the real Tennesseans were lamenting they would like to see just “one good snowstorm” this winter. Wishes came true as the deep south was pummeled with ice and snow, and we received the perfect light
bigger-than-life snowflakes that left us with this beautiful winter wonderland.
Psalm 96:11-12
“Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy”
When I woke up this morning and saw the sun rising over our neighbors hill I knew if I were going to get any snowy pictures this winter I had better layer on some warm clothing and head outside.
I did just that and was rewarded with crisp air, bright blue sky, shimmering snow and the sun rising quickly.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
The silence broken only by the occasional crack of a branch weighed down from the icy snow. Even the birds were noticeably absent.
But the ponies who graze next door were wandering around their pasture more than just a little curious about what I was doing walking their fence line!
Job 12:7-10
7 “But ask the beasts, and they will teach you;
the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you;
8 or the bushes of the earth,[a] and they will teach you;
and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
9 Who among all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
10 In his hand is the life of every living thing
and the breath of all mankind.
I am so thankful I had the time to be outside this morning. It blessed my entire day! I hope you enjoy the pictures as well.
32 They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” Luke 24:32
Have a blessed Friday!
